CCSC was founded on July, 17th, 2008 by a change of the former name "Luangwa Wilderness e.V.".
Chief motive for the formation of a Zoological Society was the intention to get involved with long term sustainable nature conservation. Furthermore it was a special interest to secure the sustainability with integration of the local communities.
Financial support, knowledge transfer and active cooperation are the basis for a successful conservation project.
The founders of the society consist of committed veterinarians, who are, due to their working life, familiar with wildlife and the problems associated with nature conservation, as well as supporters with high interest in nature and wildlife.
The society follows the aims and baselines of the general guidelines for the conservation of animals and their biotopes. The work is done exclusively on a charitable base and is non-profit orientated. Out of this reason the Society became officially accredited with this non-profit-making status in Germany in March 2003.
Financial support will go directly to the conservation of the Luambe National Park without any administrative levels in between.
